Refund and cancellation policy

Effective 8 September 2026

Direct digital purchases are generally final after access is activated.

Where permitted by law, a direct web-edition purchase is non-refundable once payment is confirmed and purchaser access is supplied. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

1. Direct web editions

A direct web edition is digital content supplied to the authenticated account used for checkout or purchase-proof submission. By completing payment and requesting activation, you expressly request supply of the digital content. Where applicable law permits, beginning digital supply may result in loss of a cooling-off or withdrawal right.

No refund is normally provided for change of mind, mistaken selection, failure to use the account, dissatisfaction with writing style, or a decision that the material is not suitable after access has been activated.

2. Exceptions considered

A refund or corrective action may be provided where required by law or where we confirm:

  • a duplicate direct charge or transfer for the same purchaser and title;
  • an unauthorised transaction, subject to identity and payment-provider or bank verification;
  • payment was received but the purchased access was not supplied and could not be restored within a reasonable period after notice;
  • a material technical defect prevents access and cannot reasonably be corrected;
  • the product supplied materially differs from the direct digital edition described before payment.

We may first attempt to restore access, correct the entitlement, replace a defective file, or provide an equivalent delivery method before issuing a refund.

3. Cancellation and incomplete payments

You may leave or cancel PayPal checkout before payment is approved. No purchaser entitlement is created for a cancelled checkout.

For India UPI or bank-transfer purchases, do not submit proof until the transfer has completed. A pending, failed, reversed, incorrectly addressed, or unmatched transfer does not create access. If a transfer reaches the displayed receiving account but the buyer does not wish to proceed before access is activated, contact support promptly with the UTR and account email. Any refund remains subject to receipt confirmation, fraud checks, bank or UPI processing constraints, applicable law, and any unavoidable transfer charges.

Once payment is confirmed and purchaser access is activated, the direct digital purchase is treated as supplied, subject to the exceptions above and any non-excludable legal right.

4. Amazon and other retailers

Kindle, paperback, hardcover, and other retailer purchases are sold by the relevant retailer. Returns, refunds, cancellations, delivery issues, and payment disputes for those editions are governed by the retailer’s policies and must normally be requested from the retailer. Approval or rejection of website purchaser access does not alter the retailer’s refund decision.

5. Purchase-proof rejection

Submitting invalid, insufficient, altered, or unmatched evidence does not create purchaser access. Where a request needs more information or is declined, the reader may submit replacement evidence. A UPI screenshot is not treated as proof of settlement unless the matching credit can be confirmed in the receiving account. Fraudulent or altered evidence may result in denial of access and account restriction.

6. Institutional and negotiated purchases

Institutional licences, bulk access, training packages, consulting deliverables, and separately negotiated arrangements are governed by the written quotation, invoice, order form, or agreement applicable to that purchase.

7. Payment disputes, reversals, and chargebacks

This policy does not remove rights available under applicable law or through PayPal, a bank, card issuer, or UPI participant. Contact us through the support channel before opening a dispute so that duplicate payments, missing access, or technical issues can be investigated. If a payment is refunded, reversed, recalled, or successfully charged back, the corresponding purchaser entitlement may be suspended or removed.

8. Requesting review

Submit the account email, title, purchase date, PayPal order, UTR, bank reference, or retailer reference, reason for the request, and relevant evidence through the contact page. Do not send full card details, bank credentials, passwords, UPI PINs, one-time passwords, or unrelated confidential hotel information.
