Terms and conditions
Effective 8 September 2026
1. Operator and scope
The Hotel Finance Practice Library is operated under eHMS Press, the publishing imprint of eHotel Management School. These terms apply to this website, reader accounts, digital editions, companion resources, testimonial submissions, purchase-verification services, and direct payments processed through or verified by the site.
2. Acceptance
By using the site, creating an account, submitting a testimonial or purchase evidence, or buying a direct digital edition, you agree to these terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy, and the Educational and Professional Disclaimer. Do not use, submit content to, or purchase through the site if you do not agree.
3. Reader accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep access credentials secure.
- Accounts and purchaser entitlements are personal and may not be sold, shared, transferred, or used to provide systematic access to others.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you promptly report unauthorised access.
- We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, payment disputes, unlawful use, or material breach of these terms.
4. Licence to use content
Content is licensed, not sold. Subject to your access level, you receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for personal professional development, individual study, and internal reference. You may not reproduce, republish, scrape, systematically download, redistribute, resell, upload to public or shared repositories, train a model on, or create competing derivative products from the content without prior written permission.
Brief quotations may be used where permitted by law and accompanied by appropriate attribution. Classroom, hotel-team, consulting, or institutional distribution may require a separate licence.
5. Purchases and access
- Direct web-edition purchases are one-time digital-content purchases linked to the authenticated reader account used at checkout or proof submission. The direct web edition includes the web-book access and purchaser digital-companion resources identified for that title.
- Prices, currencies, included resources, and eligibility are shown before payment and may change for future purchases.
- Complete Library Access may be offered at a promotional price. A completed eligible Complete Library purchase activates the five web-edition entitlements identified on the purchase page without a time limit; the promotional price itself may be changed or withdrawn for future purchases. Access may still end following a refund, payment reversal, fraud, security action, or other termination permitted by these terms.
- International direct checkout is processed by PayPal under PayPal’s own terms. We do not receive or store your complete card or bank details.
- India UPI payments are completed outside the website using the displayed UPI details. Access is not automatic: the buyer must submit the payment reference and evidence, and eHMS Press activates access only after the matching bank credit is verified.
- The buyer is responsible for checking the payee name, amount, and UPI identifier before authorising a transfer. A screenshot alone does not prove settlement.
- Amazon and other retailer purchases are contracts with the relevant retailer and are also subject to that retailer’s terms.
- An eligible paperback or hardcover purchase may be used to request the matching web edition after valid proof of purchase is reviewed and approved. Approval is linked to the reader account that submits the verified claim.
- Kindle and other eBook purchases are separate digital editions and do not include web-reader access or digital-companion access. A Kindle/eBook receipt is not eligible for the print-purchaser web-access claim.
- External, UPI, institutional, or negotiated purchase access may require a valid receipt, invoice, UTR, order record, or other evidence. False, altered, duplicated, or misleading proof may be rejected and may result in account suspension.
6. Digital supply and refunds
PayPal access may begin immediately after successful capture and automated confirmation. UPI, bank-transfer, eligible retailer, and negotiated purchases begin only after administrator verification and entitlement activation. Where permitted by law, by completing a direct digital purchase and requesting activation you expressly request supply of the digital content. The direct-purchase refund terms are stated in the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Nothing in these terms removes a refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Educational use and professional responsibility
The books, website, tools, examples, and responses are educational practitioner materials. They are not legal, tax, audit, accounting, investment, employment, cybersecurity, regulatory, or other professional advice for a particular organisation or transaction. You remain responsible for verifying current standards, laws, contracts, facts, source records, assumptions, and professional requirements before acting.
8. Independence and third-party rights
The publications and site are independently produced and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or sponsored by HFTP, AHLA, the Global Finance Committee, or any official USALI rights holder. Third-party names and marks are used only for identification, commentary, compatibility, or reference. See the Copyright, Trademark, and Independence Notice.
9. Acceptable use
You must not attempt to bypass access controls, access another person’s account or purchase record, interfere with the site, upload malicious files, submit unlawful material, misuse signed links, reverse engineer protected content delivery, or use the service in a way that infringes rights or applicable law.
10. Testimonials and submitted content
- A testimonial must reflect your genuine experience and must not contain confidential information, unlawful content, unsupported factual claims, defamatory statements, or personal data about another person.
- You must have the right to submit any photograph and must have obtained any permission required for its publication.
- By expressly consenting to publication, you grant eHMS Press a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display the approved name, position, selected book, testimonial text, and optional photograph on the library website and related eHMS Press promotional pages.
- Submission does not guarantee publication. Administrators may approve, decline, archive, or remove a testimonial to protect accuracy, relevance, privacy, safety, or the integrity of the platform.
- We will not materially rewrite a testimonial and present the altered wording as your own. Minor formatting, spelling, or length edits should be agreed where they affect meaning.
- You may request removal of an approved testimonial or photograph through the contact page. Removal from the live site does not require deletion of moderation records that must be retained for legitimate or legal purposes.
11. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, legal requirements, or technical changes may temporarily affect the service. We may correct errors, update content, modify features, or discontinue a feature. A purchased title will not be deliberately withdrawn without a reasonable effort to provide an alternative means of access where practicable.
12. No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that every statement is complete, current, error-free, suitable for every hotel, accepted by every auditor, owner, regulator, lender, franchisor, or jurisdiction, or capable of producing a particular commercial result. Published testimonials reflect individual reader experience and are not a guarantee that another reader will obtain the same result.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, eHMS Press, eHotel Management School, the author, and their service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue, data, opportunity, goodwill, or business interruption arising from reliance on the content or use of the service. For a paid direct digital purchase, aggregate liability for claims relating to that purchase will not exceed the amount paid for the affected title, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.
14. Third-party services and links
The site may link to PayPal, Amazon, LinkedIn, Google, Supabase-supported authentication, or other third-party services. UPI transfers are completed through the buyer’s selected bank or UPI application and the receiving bank. Their services, availability, data practices, content, and decisions are governed by their own terms and policies. A link or displayed payment identifier does not constitute endorsement of a particular provider.
15. Termination
You may stop using the site at any time. We may restrict or terminate access for material breach, fraud, unlawful use, security risk, or a refunded or reversed purchase. Provisions concerning intellectual property, submitted-content licences, disclaimers, liability, payment records, and lawful retention continue after termination where necessary.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect legal, operational, security, or product changes. The current version and effective date will be posted here. Material changes affecting active purchaser access will be communicated through the site or account email where reasonably practicable.
17. Applicable law
These terms operate subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer protections. No provision is intended to exclude a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
18. Contact
Questions about these terms or requests to remove a testimonial may be submitted through the contact page. Do not include confidential hotel records, payment credentials, or sensitive personal data in a general enquiry.
