Professional perspective

Finance becomes useful when it changes an operating or owner decision.

Manish Gupta, CA, is a Chartered Accountant, Group CFO, hotelier, author, and educator with more than 23 years of progressive experience across audit, hospitality finance, hotel operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal control, systems implementation, turnaround management, and owner-focused decision support. He currently leads group finance for CHIC, NAIA & Muzuri across hotels, development projects, commercial and residential assets, and franchised retail operations. He was recognized among Asia's Top 10 CFOs in 2024. Through eHotel Management School and eHMS Press, he converts practical hospitality experience into books, courses, decision tools, and learning resources for hotel leaders, finance teams, owners, students, and educators.

“The report is not the end of the accounting process. It is the beginning of management action.”

Professional practice behind the writing

From audit and financial control to group-level hotel and asset leadership.

His career progressed through hotel accounting and financial control, senior Shangri-La finance and operating assignments, multi-property CFO leadership in Myanmar, and current group-level responsibility across hospitality, development, real estate, and retail-linked assets.
