Chapter 9Room Statistics Before Room KPIs
How capacity, demand, physical use, and guest load create different management stories
Amara has finished the revenue cleanup from Chapter 8. Destination fees, taxes, and package components are out of the Rooms numerator. Lina expects the KPI page to finally settle the discussion.
It doesn't. A clean numerator can still produce a misleading result if rooms available, rooms sold, occupied rooms, no-shows, or closures aren't handled consistently. One incorrect room status can quietly enter housekeeping schedules, front-office deployment, and cross-hotel comparisons before anyone notices the denominator moved.
“Prove the room statistic before trusting the KPI or the operating plan.”
